Whew! What a workout! I just spent an hour very vigorously weeding a flower garden. In just that hour, I KNOW 230 calories are gone, but because I amped the intensity(with the help of some VERY huge and deep roots), I am satisfied that it was more. Always remember, the more intensity, the more calories you burn with ANY activity, so give EVERY activity you do during your day your absolute most and not only will you burn more calories, you will be more satisfied with life and your accomplishments period. I will go into more detail with garden exercising soon especially since the spring and summer is on us, however, I promised some vacuum cleaning calorie blasting tips. I do apologize for their belated state. The best exercise while vacuuming is lunges. The vacuum is great for balance AND you can pretend it is a sword and REALLY perfect your technique and workout more than just your legs and buttocks! Every time space is permitting, push the vacuum cleaner forward then take one leg in front of you and start to kneel so as your knee is aligned with your ankle- never over- as this could cause unnecessary injury and lean down to a one legged squat. You will feel this in your hamstrings, thighs and buttocks, and if done correctly, your calves. Push back and do the same with your other leg. While you are holding on to the vacuum still, your arms are also toning. Remember to keep your back straight and crunch those abs while doing so. Another option is to once again use a weight alternating each hand with it throughout the process. And since it IS SPRING- how about some heavy duty spring cleaning via vacuum! It is time to move all the furniture and vacuum underneath it! This will double blast calories AND give you a real muscle-building session! Even if you don't do it all in one day, those spurts mean a lot. Also you can always be creative! Don't just limit yourself to my suggestions. There are a million ways to make this and any other activity more rewarding for your body. You can do it! Just ALWAYS remember!!! NEVER lift with your BACK and ALWAYS with EVERY move you do- ALWAYS concentrate on keeping your abs as tight as possible!!! ALWAYS lift with your legs! This will help prevent injury AND help build your abs and thighs and calves. Oh yes. And ANY time you have questions or want to contact me, please feel free to message me anytime! Happy spring cleaning!!
