Just a word to the wise. . . When anticipating a very vigorous and concentrated workout with the allowance of time- DON'T forget to warm up your FEET! Get them WARM with a light 5 minute warm-up then STRETCH them! Concentrate on making circles with your toes- then let the stretch continue to your calves then then thighs, etc. DON'T get foot lock up or an ankle sprain!!! Before you start the intensity of your workout- whether it be by yourself, with a friend or a video- stop. check your body. Is EVERYTHING from toe to head WARM and LOOSE? If not- warm up till it is. If so- GET GOING!!! Happy MOVEMENT!

Your NEW form of RELEASE!!! Don't shout. Don't pin up. Don't agree- right or wrong- till you have woken your body up and asked it what you are really feeling and needing!!! Take a quick walk. RIGHT now. Do some jumpin jacks, sit ups. . . pick up your weights n tell someone off with your arms(while alone). Skip to the lou while you are cookin or puttin the dishes away! Shoot some ball with your kids. Play pitcher while they bat. Challenge a race. You don't have to quit life to workout but you DO have to move. Sometimes it is essential we release by ourselves and sometimes we have to be creative for ourselves AND the ones around us. Get goin and RELEASE! I promise in fifteen minutes of just a little rush or sweat- things will be so much clearer!!!

I read once that "much activity creates success". How true is this in ALL aspects of our lives. Especially on the endeavor to a healthy body which affects every other part of our lives directly. So remember! Just MOVE! Happy activity today!!!

Sometimes, when we are so physically and mentally exhausted we are convinced the best thing for us is to sit back on the couch or the recliner or even the bed with a bag of popcorn, pork rinds(my favorite), chips, or whatever your pick may be and veg to a movie. You tell yourself you need it- and YES! SOMETIMES you do- but, next time, please try this- turn up some music and DON'T make yourself worry about the right moves, repetitions, correct way to do crunches, or the right kind of push up. Just move. Dance like you just wanna just enjoy yourself for a minute. If your kids are in the room they will laugh at first, but they will come to love the freedom you have and can show them in just moving and enjoying it for a few minutes. Your husband/boyfriend/wife/girlfriend might even be enticed to join. Don't wanna be bothered for just a FEW minutes? NEED that alone time? TAKE the jambox to the BATHROOM and lock the door!!! Fifteen minutes to however long you need and I promise you will emerge a lighter emotionally AND physically person! You can be mad, sexy, silly, happy, calm, a ballerina- WHATEVER!!! The more in shape you become, the more in tuned to the answers your body needs you will be- like is this REALLY the evening I NEED rest and a snack with some carb-amped feel good potential, or do I just need to vent and burn some toxins because I haven't gotten to all day?! Your body is screaming what it needs- use it and get to know it and you will be able to interpret!!! Happy DANCIN!!!

While at the grocery store today, I realized I wasn't making the most of my trip body-wise. My mind started turning on ideas to incorporate exercise in this also. I have heard of people doing this before, but some of the ideas I have heard and seen documented on television have looked laughably absurd. While chit chatting with a friend in the icecream aisle, I began to do calf-raises which only looked like a little nervous habit of sorts all the while with hands in my pullover pouch. I then began to really concentrate on tightening my core as hard as possible which is completely unnoticable unless your face gives way to the strain of course. I made sure to walk briskly when ever possible and thought if I had had to buy milk, I would have carried it with one arm then switch instead of putting it in the buggy(as long as the buggy was light enough to steer with one hand). When I reached up to grab things, I did a calf raise with one foot and lifted my other leg up and back while squeezing my gluttes and thighs and it just looked like a cute, graceful way of reaching up(III think anyway). And when my feet started hurting, I did some knee raises which merely looked like I was lightening the load off my feet and stretching a bit(which was exactly what it was at first!). I will be creating new ideas for this excursion and more- just exercise anywhere ideas (without looking like a total workout dork). Also I am working on creating some very effective- "I've got ten minutes" workouts to vastly our mood, energy, and maximum calorie blasting short AND long-term. Visit me again soon!
